Vilnius University Health and Sports Center, together with the Baltic region’s leading nuts and dried fruits company Arimex, is inviting VU students and staff for the second consecutive year to take on a shared challenge – to prepare over two months and complete either a 5 km or 10 km distance at the Vilnius Half Marathon on May 23.

On February 27, 2026, at 5:30 PM, a one-minute bench press competition will take place at the Vilnius University Sports Hall (M. K. Čiurlionio St. 21, VU SSC premises). All Vilnius University students and alumni who wish to test their abilities and experience the excitement of a competitive sporting atmosphere are invited to take part in this strength challenge.

As the spring semester begins, the Vilnius University Health and Sports Center reminds and invites the University community to take care of their physical and emotional well-being and to register for the activities on offer.

Vilnius University Health and Sports Center is expanding its range of activities and invites you to try self-defense classes based on judo and sambo principles. The sessions will be led by coach Eimantas Tukačiauskas. These are practical, dynamic workouts designed to teach basic techniques in standing and ground positions that can be realistically applied in self-defense situations.

On 23 January 2026, the FTMC Winter Cross-Country Run for employees of academic institutions will take place. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to be more physically active, this will be a great opportunity to start putting it into practice!
