On the evening of September 24, the Vilnius University (VU) community is invited to gather at the university stadium in Saulėtekis for VU RUNS 2026. Participants will be able to choose between two distances – the symbolic VU Mile or a 3-kilometre run.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the VU Stadium, Saulėtekio Ave. 26. Those choosing the symbolic VU Mile will run 1,579 metres – four laps of the stadium. The alternative is a 3-kilometre distance.
All members of the VU community are welcome to take part – students, lecturers, staff and alumni. Whether you run regularly or simply want to challenge yourself and spend an active evening, everyone is invited to join.
If a large number of runners gather, participants will start in several groups. Awards will be presented to the fastest runners.

5:00–5:45 p.m. – registration at the starting area
5:45 p.m. – welcome remarks
5:50 p.m. – warm-up
6:00 p.m. – race start
7:00 p.m. – awards ceremony (exact time will be confirmed)
