Vilnius University Health and Sports Centre invites members of the community to try new yoga classes starting on November 12. This is a great opportunity to relax, build physical strength, and improve concentration.
The classes are led by yoga instructor and master’s student of the Psychology study programme at the VU Faculty of Philosophy, Jogailė Navickaitė.
Relaxing Yoga / Beginners
This is a gentle, calming yoga practice designed to reduce tension, improve flexibility and balance, and enhance concentration. During the sessions, we will learn correct yoga postures (asanas), improve body flexibility and joint mobility, and combine all of this with breathing techniques that help you better understand your body and consciously guide it. At the end of the class, a relaxation period and a short meditation await, helping you release the stresses of the day.
Difficulty level: yoga poses can be adapted to each person’s abilities.
Intensity level: low / moderate
Time: Wednesdays at 19:00
Duration: 50 min.
Power Yoga / More Intensive, for Advanced Participants
This practice is intended for those who want to deepen their yoga experience, strengthen the body, and build endurance. During the sessions, we will not only improve flexibility, balance, and concentration, but also move dynamically and build strength, consciously synchronizing movement with breath. We will learn to perform various yoga poses (asanas) correctly, apply Pranayama—conscious breathing—techniques, and finish the class with a relaxing meditation that helps integrate the effects of the practice on the body and mind, reducing tension, calming emotions, and fostering awareness of one’s inner state.
Difficulty level: for advanced participants, but poses can be adapted to individual abilities, so anyone who is ready for a more dynamic and intensive yoga practice is welcome to join.
Intensity level: moderate / high
Time: Wednesdays at 20:00
Duration: 1 hour 15 min.
Important! To participate in group classes, a membership at the Vilnius University Health and Sports Centre is required.
