On November 10, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., an open lecture–meeting–discussion in English titled “Your Personality Impacts How You Exercise, Recover and Learn” will take place at Vilnius University’s Small Aula (Universiteto St. 3). The event is organized by the VU Health and Sport Centre in collaboration with the Community Well-Being Division.

The lecture will be delivered by neuroscientist, Amsterdam Conservatory lecturer, and former Olympic speed skater Dr. Beorn Nijenhuis. He will present how our personal traits influence movement, recovery, and learning processes, and will answer questions from the audience.

I study how the brain gets better at getting better. The "wellness industry" earns trillions of dollars by making brain health seem very complicated. The truth is simpler: movement, sleep, and mindfulness—daily doses of these will speed up learning and keep your brain sharp into old age. But, how to motivate you to get enough of these? That is a longer story. Join me in learning more. I'll teach you a bit about evolution and the brain, and leave you with a practical playbook you can start using the next day." - says Dr Beorn Nijenhuis.

The lecture is relevant to everyone interested in wellness, sports, psychology, and learning processes — especially to those working with students. We warmly invite you to take an active part!
