September 29 Vilnius University Rector's Cup athletics competition took place at Saulėtekios Stadium and the 2022-2023 academic year Rector's Prizecompetition season began.

52394241101 0c4e583ee1 cInterfaculty competitions at the Health and Sports Center (HSC) were revived in the 2000s. This year they are being held for the 22nd time. Every year this competition is organized by different faculties along with SSC. The partner of this year's interfaculty Rector's Prize competition is the Faculty of History.

VU students represented their faculties and participated in long jump, shot put, 100m, 400m and 1000m running events.

Laura Žileviče (MF) won first place among women in the shot put event, throwing the ball 11 m 30 cm. Karolina Cvirkienė (10 m 23 cm, CHGF) took the second place, Elena Jasaitė (10 m 15 cm, MF) took the third place. In the men's group, the first place was won by Ramojus Belevičius (10 m 68 cm, GMC), the second place was won by Arvydas Kazlauskas (9 m 32 cm, MIF).

Only girls competed in the long jump. The first place was won by Elena Jasaitė (MF) who jumped 4 m 94 cm, the second - Jonė Marozaitė (4 m 80 cm, IF), the third Karina Sorkina (4 m 65 cm, MF).

The largest number of students participated in the running events. Having covered the distance of 100 m in 13.4 s, Ingrida Sinkevičiūtė (IF) won first place, in 14.5 s Jonė Marozaitė (IF) - second, in 15.2 s Aina Jonaitė (TF) - third.

Hanna Zykeyeva (EVAF) won the first 400 m event in 1.04 min. The second place was won by Ingrida Sinkevičiūtė (1.05 min, IF), and the third by Karina Sorkina (1.09 min, MF).

Eglė Vaitulevičiūtė (GMC) who ran 1000 m in 3.18.2 min won the first place. Justina Lukošiūtė (3.24 min, FF) – second, and Hanna Zikeyeva (3.47, EVAF) – third.

Among the boys, the fastest was: Eriks Ivanovs (EVAF) who won 100 m in 12.43 s, Azimjon Tukhtamurodov (12.56 s, EVAF) ran second, Tuaha Chaudhey (13 s, VM) - third. Erik Ivanovas was also the fastest in the 400 m race (55.5 s), leaving behind Arvydas Kazlauskas (56.7 s, MIF) and Rokas Kalesykas (1.06 min, CHGF). Džiugas Karklelis won the longest distance after covering 1000 m in 2.47.3 min, leaving Linas Šinkūnas (2.51.1 min, TSPMI) in second place and Ramojs Belevičius (2.58 min, GMC) in third place.
